M’ANAM (“My Soul” in the Irish language) is a male voice ensemble founded by composer Michael McGlynn. It forms part of the ANÚNA Collective, together with ANÚNA and Systir, and Michael’s original compositions form the core of its repertoire.

M’ANAM features between six and eight performers drawn from several European countries. Their musical backgrounds range from rock and classical music to early music and opera, creating a distinctive ensemble sound centred on the male voice, storytelling and communal performance.

The repertoire includes original compositions and arrangements by Michael McGlynn alongside selected traditional and historical material. Texts and musical influences come from several languages and cultures, including Irish and Icelandic, but the ensemble’s identity is defined principally by the original music created for it.

M’ANAM have headlined concerts at Dublin’s TradFest and Glasgow’s Celtic Connections and have performed in Iceland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sardinia, Italy and Canada. They were in residence at Limerick Sings in June 2025 and have released the album M’ANAM and the EP Smidiríní.

M’ANAM: Between Two Worlds (2023) is a prize winning feature-length documentary about the ensemble, produced and directed by Michael McGlynn. Its Nordic Premiere was at Bío Paradís cinema in Reykjavík in January 2024. The film won Best Feature Film Cinematography at the SOUND On SCREEN Music Film Festival (South Africa) (2025), won the Documentary Award at the Munich Video Awards (2023), won Best Documentary Film Cinematography at Milan FFI (2023) was nominated at Louth International Film Festival for Best Documentary Feature (2023) and has been Selected for screening at Kerry International Film Festival (2023) and the Fine Arts Film Festival, Venice, California (2026) among other accolades. The film will be released to streaming in summer 2026 in an updated version.

M’ANAM feature on the soundtrack of the animated feature by Blizzard Entertainment entitled "Warbringers: Jaina", part of a series of short films serving as a prelude to World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth and currently boasting 16 million streams on YouTube. Japanese Jazz Fusion band mouse on the keys collaborated with them on "Clarity" the opening track from their highly successful album tres.
