Who we are

This website, www.anuna.ie, is operated by ANÚNA Teoranta, a private company limited by shares registered in Ireland under company number 201294.

ANÚNA Teoranta manages ANÚNA Collective, comprising the vocal ensembles ANÚNA, M’ANAM and Systir. It also produces and releases audio and visual recordings, administers the sheet music catalogue of Michael McGlynn, and manages associated educational, performance and outreach activity.

ANÚNA Collective is a collective name only. ANÚNA Teoranta is the legal entity that operates this website and determines how and why personal data collected through it is processed.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and other applicable data protection law, ANÚNA Teoranta is the Data Controller.

Personal data we collect

Information you provide directly

your name, where supplied;

Providing this information is voluntary. However, we may be unable to respond to an enquiry or add you to a mailing list without the information needed for that purpose.

Technical and website usage information

When you visit the site, certain technical information is generated automatically and may be processed by Squarespace, our website platform. This can include:

your IP address;

browser, device and operating system information;

the date and time of your visit and the pages viewed;

the site or search term that referred you to us;

your cookie consent choices.

Some of this information may be personal data. Squarespace may record limited page view information even where performance and analytics cookies have been declined. In that situation, it cannot reliably connect consecutive page views into a visit or recognise a returning visitor. Cookie based identifiers used to connect events into visits and recognise returning visitors are used only where you have consented to performance and analytics cookies.

Squarespace’s visitor level Activity Log is disabled, so individual IP addresses are not displayed to us through that feature. Squarespace may nevertheless process technical information, including IP addresses, for security, platform operation and the production of general analytics.

Special category data

We do not ask you to provide sensitive or special category personal data through this website. This includes information about health, religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions, sexual orientation, racial or ethnic origin, trade union membership, genetic data or biometric data.

Please do not include this type of information in a general enquiry unless it is necessary for us to deal with that enquiry. If you nevertheless provide it, we will process it only where necessary for the enquiry and where an applicable condition under data protection law permits us to do so. Information that is not needed will be deleted when reasonably practicable.

How we use personal data

to send occasional email updates about ANÚNA, M’ANAM, Systir and related ANÚNA Collective activity, where you have subscribed;

to provide information about performances, tours, recordings, films, publications, sheet music, education and related projects;

to respond to enquiries submitted through the website or by email;

to administer our professional, contractual or commercial relationship with you;

to keep the website secure and functioning correctly;

to understand general website usage; cookie based analytics are used only where you have consented to performance and analytics cookies;

to maintain records of mailing list consent and unsubscribe requests;

We do not use personal data for a purpose that is incompatible with the purpose for which it was collected, unless the law permits or requires this.

Lawful bases for processing

Consent. We rely on consent when you subscribe to a mailing list, accept non essential cookies, or where we otherwise specifically ask for consent. You may withdraw consent at any time. This does not affect processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

Legitimate interests. We rely on legitimate interests to respond to enquiries, communicate with people who have contacted or worked with us, administer ANÚNA Collective’s activities, maintain website security, process limited non cookie technical and page view information, and protect our legal rights. We do not rely on this basis where your rights and interests override ours.

Contractual necessity. We rely on this basis where you ask us to arrange a performance, supply material, consider a booking or enter another agreement, and processing is necessary to take steps at your request or perform that contract.

Legal obligation. We rely on this basis where we must process or retain information to comply with the law.

Email communications

If you subscribe to a mailing list:

your details are collected through the sign up form and stored directly within the Squarespace back end used to manage the site;

we do not use a separate third party mailing list, customer relationship management or marketing platform;

you will receive occasional emails about ANÚNA, M’ANAM, Systir and related activity;

every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link;

you may withdraw consent at any time;

we do not sell or rent mailing list data, and we do not provide it to other organisations for their own marketing.

After you unsubscribe, we may retain a minimal record of your email address and unsubscribe request for as long as necessary to ensure that no further marketing is sent and to demonstrate compliance.

Cookies and embedded content

This site uses cookies. Some are strictly necessary and are set automatically. Others, including performance and analytics cookies, are set only after you actively consent through the cookie banner.

Embedded YouTube videos are initially displayed as static preview images. Google and YouTube are contacted only when you choose to press Play and load the video player. Recipients and service providers

Personal data may be received or processed by:

Squarespace, Inc., which hosts the website, provides the back end where contact form and mailing list submissions are stored, provides email delivery through the platform and supplies website analytics;

Google and YouTube, when you choose to play an embedded YouTube video. They process technical and viewing information under Google’s own privacy terms;

information technology, security and technical support providers;

professional advisers, such as accountants or solicitors, where access is necessary for legal, accounting or regulatory purposes;

courts, regulators, law enforcement bodies or other public authorities where disclosure is required by law.

We do not use a separate third party mailing list, customer relationship management or form processing service. Form and sign up data goes directly into the Squarespace back end for this website and is accessed there by us.

These organisations may act as data processors acting on our instructions, or as independent data controllers where they determine their own purposes and means of processing. Squarespace may, for example, act as an independent controller for certain security and platform operation information. Google and YouTube act under their own privacy terms when their player is loaded.

We do not sell or trade personal data.

International transfers

Squarespace and Google are United States based service providers, and some personal data may be processed or stored outside Ireland and the European Economic Area.

For personal data processed by Squarespace on our behalf, Squarespace states that it relies on the EU US Data Privacy Framework and, where necessary, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

When you choose to load an embedded YouTube video, Google processes information under its own privacy terms and international transfer safeguards. ANÚNA Teoranta does not control Google’s independent processing.

Data retention

mailing list data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it;

a minimal record of an unsubscribe request may be retained for as long as necessary to ensure that no further marketing is sent;

general enquiries are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond and deal with any follow up, and are periodically reviewed for deletion;

correspondence connected with an active professional, commercial, contractual or legal matter is kept for as long as that matter remains active and afterwards for any period required by law;

cookie and website usage information is retained for the periods stated in the Cookie Policy;

financial, contractual and business records are retained for periods required by tax, accounting and other legal obligations.

We may retain information for longer where necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Subject to the conditions and exemptions in data protection law, you may have the right to:

During clean browser testing in July 2026, a local storage entry named test with the value 1 was observed on anuna.ie. It did not contain a visitor identifier and was not used by ANÚNA Teoranta to identify or track visitors. No IndexedDB entries were observed for anuna.ie during that test.

Browser storage may remain until it is removed by the site, cleared by the visitor or cleared by the browser.

Squarespace and third party services

Squarespace processes some information on our behalf as a data processor and may process certain technical browsing, security and platform operation information as an independent data controller under its own privacy terms.

Embedded YouTube videos

Embedded YouTube videos on this site are displayed initially as static preview images with a Play button. The YouTube player does not load, and YouTube is not contacted, until you choose to press Play.
